My First Thanksgiving Turkey

What would Thanksgiving be without a turkey? I vividly remember the first time I got to cook the entire feast by myself. We’d just moved across country and I was more than a little nervous about cooking this big bird. Thankfully I came across a perfect roasted turkey recipe and it turned out to be great. I just wish I’d realized earlier that a 13 lb turkey is a bit much for 2 people. We must have had leftovers for a month, including sandwiches, soup and casseroles all made with plenty of turkey. Balance Training - Start With A Balance Pad

Balance is a moving experience. You might think holding your balance as a solid, non-moving position, but there are constant alterations and tiny movements going on in your body in order to keep your balance. Training your balance becomes vitally important as we age not only because falling becomes more likely, but because muscular imbalances become more apparent in our daily activities. As we age, there is a tendency to use our stronger sides to do average movements like getting out of a chair or car. This only contributes further to muscular imbalances. So what to do?  Start right now by working out with exercise regimens that require using your balance like Yoga or Pilates and choose different exercises that you do with and without tools. Exercising without tools can be something as simple as standing on one leg or walking a straight line with your eyes closed. More substantial tools can be used like a BOSU or the Airex balance pad.
