Outdoor Bonsai Trees in Canada
Thursday, April 16th, 2009You’d think that with what – at times- seems like 6 months of winter (but really it’s not) it would be easier to find an abundance of outdoor bonsai’s in Canada. But strangely that is not the case. You can find junipers and if you know where to look you can find Chinese Elms which adapt quite easily to outdoor culture, even in Toronto. But finding more than an occasional and seemingly random scattering of Maples or Japanese Maples, Larch, Pine, spruce or especially any flowering fruit bonsai trees seems to just be too much to hope for. But I haven’t stopped trying and was really pleased to be able to find some Japanese Black Pine Bonsai for Canada at Zen Garden Bonsai. (more…)
