Next to the pet paw, the dog bone may be the most universal symbol of all things canine. I’ve seen a number of jewelry creations rendered in this design recently. One of my favorites is the magic zoo dog bone charm that manages to actually look graceful hanging on a charm bracelet. Imagine that, a sterling silver bone! It just goes to show that almost anything can be beautiful if it’s well made. The magic zoo artist seems to have been around forever; I used to see her at art shows in the 1990s, but she seems to have graduated to the Internet. Good for her!

I think it’s a real kick that she’s now making these creative silver charms. I always liked her work, and it’s great to be able to collect her new stuff in silver and gold. Funny how artists change their work so thoroughly over time. It was an unexpected surprise to come upon her again after several years of wondering what this artist was now up to. She always made good animal jewelry, but in the old days it was out of polymer clay. Anyway, I’m happy to give her a little plug. Good job, Merry!
